Makes sense but keep in mind on a river not a wide open lake. I always drop my speed before tucking the drive. If this is not the best way what is?? That's my main complaint about the boat I'm used to a deep V and how they turn.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it today pending water test. I've seen the boat and been in it, but haven't rode in it yet. I'm not really concerned about sqeezing every mph out of it on the top end, I was more concerned with finding a good quality boat that rides nice with a good low hour, larger factory power package. After looking at a couple 25 Outlaws and 272's I was pleased with the build quality of the Powerquest.
I'm very anxious and exicted to get this boat in the water and try it out. The step looks cool, but sounds like it may have a good and a bad side. Has anyone seemed to pinpoint or be able to feel a speed when the hull
"breaks free" and starts to cruise more efficiently with less drag?

Running upper 70s i always bump the trim down slowly as i slowly pull the throttle back. taking a good 20-30 seconds to get down to crusing speed. "45-50". if you trim down hard and jerk the throttle back it is possible to spin one out. and NEVER take a turn at speed while trimed up in a step hull boat.. You will die.LOL,

you do not want to bump the drive down any lower than neutral while turning on a step bottom boat,,when you do this you bring the bow down and raise the stern, with the step and all the air produced by the step the rear of the boat is loose and the weight of the boat is now in the bow area and thats how step boat boats hook...just saying...

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm going to run it on the Ohio river on Wednesday. Can't wait. From the sounds of things I will be making a call to BB Blades to try a drive spacer and a 26 Bravo first thing this spring with their demo program.
Anxious to see how it does w/ the stock drive length and the 23p. Rev4 4blade thats on it now. Sounds like I will pickup a higher cruise speed, easier planing, and a few mph on topend w/ a spacer and 26 Bravo. Any suggestions on spacer size? I'm thinking 1.5-2"?
Sounds like some are running a 1" and toying w/ the idea of going lower still.
