When is the SHOOTOUT this year and what area of the lake? I'm an old Cumberland rat and haven't made the trek to O'Zark's as yet.

The shootout is the week before Labor Day on Saturday and Sunday. It is held between the 19mm. to the 24mm. (this is the no wake area) at the lake. If you have not been there it is in the main part of the lake and you CAN NOT mis it. Most people get down there on Friday and stay until Monday. That way you get to see everything.

So what kind of boat do you have? Lets see some photos if you sign up. This a cool place to hang out over the winter months.

I want to get down to Cumberland sometime, maybe go by pier 57 or something.

Hey Rich, we ought to plan a trip to Cumberland sometime. I've never been there. Maybe we can find some folks on OSO that will show us around. It would be fun to go by the dealer down there and see all the cigs, fountains and OLs.

The Shootout is August 26,27,28. It is one hell of a show! Not very often does an everyday boater like myself and PWRQST get to see pleasure boats doing triple digits.

Ya, but the most fun part is leaving the shootout. The real test is driving in the aftermath.

Mentalpause, I'll have to agree with you on that one! Its hard to explain to people how nasty the water can get in a very short amount of time. PWRQWST looked like a kid in a candy store last year after the race on Saturday blowing by cruisers full of chicks. We had a friend in a Checkmate that stuffed it on the way to Backwaters.

So what are the best places to go for a few drinks. Where do most of the go boats go !!!

Backwaters is close to the shootout - we are going to Franky and Louis's this year - a 15 mile trip in some real nasty water. Last one there buys!!
