Default Bravo 1 vs ChopperII Speed

Has anyone gone from a Bravo 1 to a Chopper and experienced any speed gains if so what were they? I know the Choppers are not that good for cruising but do you think its better to go to a Mirage Plus instead of a Chopper? I heard that the Bravos steal alot of HP from the outboards and I'm looking into getting 2 mph more on top so do you think getting rid of the Bravo is a good idea. I have a 33 Center Console with twin 300x's weight is about 6,000lbs. I'm running 26P but rpms are too low and the lowerunits are as high as they can go running 10lbs of water presssure at WOT. RPM's are around 6,200. Thanks

We have run Choppers on cnt. console OB boats with some pretty good success in the top speed areas. In fact, depending on the boat, they can be the fastest props because of there bow carrying help.

Downside, hole shot can suffer or at least change and mid range speeds will definitely decrease.

It's a 33ft Avance very similar to a 33ft Concept. Same style boat.

The Choppers will indeed be fast on the boat. But as Brett stated your hole shot may suffer a bit. But as the old adage goes, you must give to receive!
