I'm currently using a March sterndriver 4 blade 24" pitch prop, which give me 71mph at 5200rpm (GPS) on a - 93 Fountain 27 Fever .
Would a Bravo 1 or a Hydromotive give me better top end than the March?
Since my slip is low, how much speed could I expect to gain with a 2" shorthy?
The motor is a HP500 and Bravo 1,5 gear ratio.
Thanks in advance. bl

That's probably one of the best hulls to put that prop on.
I have a few mint ones laying around if any one is interested.
If you go up 2", we can make the Bravo1 the better prop between the 2 choices.

How high is your X-dimension currently? I have heard theat fountain set this pretty high on most of their boats to give you the best top end from the factory,2 inchs higher up yet might suck and create porpoising/planing/cavitation problems,I would say research your x-dimension and post it then borrow a 2" shorty or talk to another 27 fountain owner who has done it already before making the $ plunge on one,Smitty

Thanks for the feedback.
I don't know my X, but my prop shaft is 4 1/2" below the bottom, currently no cavitation issues. According to BAM's slip calculator I'm at 10%. Would a Bravo 26" give me the same rpms as the 24" March?
