Re: Id this Prop
Yes, I know what it is and about it.
Had to edit after another look. It's been modified. Still know what we got. Anyboby else have a guess? |
Re: Id this Prop
I know what it is, seen many of them but one hint, it is a little old school and designed for a drive that most here on oso do not embrace or understand but will fit others. A pair on a nice TG or mistress was the hot setup back in the day. It is really designed as a completely neutral prop not bow or stern lifting, but that is only my opinion. Any others want to guess?? Looks like an OB prop. Flip it over and take a pic of the hub from the other side

Re: Id this Prop
That is a TRS Sport Cleaver. they had geometry similar to the early SSM2 cleavers but splined for the TRS. They will also fit a standard Bravo1 shaft.

Re: Id this Prop
Are they worth any thing$$$ ..How much HP would be needed to turn them 5000 rpm's ?

Re: Id this Prop
Actually, what we have here is a old Kiekhaefer series propeller from the early to mid 1980's. They were designed for OB applications but they were pretty much slugs. Some boby has adjusted it because you can see the restamped pitch.
The TRS cleavers actually had a exhaust tube. They were not over the hub like this prop. It could be made to run if the diameter and thickness were modified to todays technology! |
