Turbo 1 is a good prop but the lightning and txp have more rake and will carry the bow better. I think they have a bit more diameter too. IMO the lightning is a better choice.
I bet those louvered inserts are costing you a couple hundred rpm. As for prop testing: Brett, what do you have for me to try? 25p RH |
Pat, sent you a PM. We can get you the 25's to test in a Rev 4 and a Turbo 1

Back in your inbox Brett. I'm vary interested in the performance with a Rev 4. Loved that prop on my Superboat but I don't think the drive was quite as deep.

FWIW, my 22 loved a tempest over a mirage or bravo.

The Guys on Donzi.net say to try the Turbo 1. Yes the drive is deep; I think the prop shaft is like 7"+ below the bottom. The mufflers are definitely holding her back; I bought the cheap inserts that have a block off plate that diverts the water/exhaust through louvers. I've since drilled a 2" hole through the block off plate to see if that will help. I need to get out there and give her a good run without the kids or wife on board...

Slow down FIXX.
We put the prop back to stock spec for baseline testing and Pat installed mufflers in-between the first testing and the last. This addition slightly dampered performance. We are looking for another alternative propeller option. If you had read this correctly you might have caught the whole story rather than looking for flaws. Brett |
Update for you all. Ran her yesterday with the stock 25p Mirage, no mufflers, 1/2 tank, 2 people, hot 90deg, calm water with lots of stick and logs to dodge.
71 on the telephone gps @ 4650rpm One other thing I should mention is that the drive has one of those stainless repair skegs bolted on which could be robbing some performance. I have another drive but not planning to switch it this year. Looking forward to trying other props. |

Pat,
Nice to hear the prop ran even better. I don't care too much for skeg guards, although they do have their place depending on location and boat potential. Test props went out today. Brett |
