My best speed with a Verado 350 Sci has been 81 mph +/- at 6,550 rpms with a REV4 25 which is shortened 30 mm and cupped. However it do not like so much to be run high.

If I should test out a Blaster should I try 26 inch prop?

Happy New Year!

Yes Toffen, a 26.

Happy New Year to you too!!

Even at 15.25" on the Maximus which is what I run, the rake maths out the same but the rake change considerably just at 3/16" per blade; 15.25" on the Maximus with an 80 Cup can fit 90% of all off-shores with Bravo drives especially running MR Blues.

Brett everytime you shorten those blades the rake effect changes (Maximus only offers one fixed rake setting), if it didn't we'd run 16 inch Hering 5-blades and roundear those down to 15.25 inches, but the number changes too much and Hering only offers 20 and 22 degrees of rake.

I'm still not quite understanding your point. You're saying the rake angle is fixed. Then you say the rake effect changes? When we developed this prop in 2002 the rake on those props was advertised at 30 degrees. There is a slight 1-2 degree change when we Lab them at 15.25" diameter. We adjust for that in various ways as needed.
Also you mentioned MR blues. I assume you mean Merc Racing engines. I was wondering what you mean by especially those engines? How does the engine affect prop rake performance?
Hering rake angle are not parabolic. They are available in 16 and 18 degree as well.

Sorry, just trying to understand your thoughts.

The angle is fixed but you need more of it when you shorten the blade, but if you're maxxed out at 22 degree and you need the whole 22 degree at say 15.625" inches of diameter, and you shorten the blade, it will still be 22 but will perform more like 20, maybe you can add rake to a prop on labbing, most people can't. The rake is so massive on Maximus cutting it down to 15.25 it runs better due the prop thrust below the hull and the prop lift above the hull, but adding is easy if you know how to do it. My Maximus slips at 8.97% on a single engine 15.25X29P on a 28 footer, if it was all about drive height, then leave the Maximus at 15.625" and run a drive spacer, but that doesn't work in this case because the slippage went up to 12.61%. With the MR Blues and the Smartcraft Knock Sensor System it will adjust the timing on the high end for a lower resistance coefficient, so when trimming up to max RPMs, you peg the rev limiter and trim just under it once and you're done, with mine after hitting the rev limiter, you trim down under it and the rpm will spool back up again (usually 4X) everytime it spools up you get a burst of speed, that's where the additional sharpening comes in, you can sharpen 3 edges of the prop as long as you leave the 4 side alone (cup side-reverse edge), if you sharpen the rounded side-reverse edge, now you can adjust the rake for the shorter diameter for what you lost, sharpening the two forward edges allow the boat to go faster, never touch the cup side-reverse edge or the boat will blow out and go slower not faster.

You're out of your mind.

These props are designed for big OB's and light race hulls.
I have not driven one yet but on a Outlaw, I believe the blade profile should be the same as the stock version cut down with rake adjustments.
Our feedback has also reflected this.
