Transom thickness is aprox 2.25 to 2.5 inches. Material wise i prefer Vinylester and 1708, the benefits of the VE are worth the extra couple bucks. If you are looking for a race layup three layers of half inch can be used instead of the normal two layers of three quarter. Heres an illustration i did for my upcoming book

What would you buy/order for a typical transom say for a 19 or 20 foot boat? I always end up buying to little or way to much.
