Work related accident. Had a 500 lbs steel frame fall over and crush me when a clamp failed. I was knelt down and it was on my inspection table. Hit me with around 2000 lbs of force. I had two ratchet clamps holding it, but one failed. Lucky for me I have a very thick skull, now I have the CT scan to prove it... lol

Wow. This is one seriously cool build! Love the LS route, I will be doing the same soon. This is an over the top resto for sure and I am glad I found and read it all.

I figured go big or go home. I had planned on a mild engine build... but then Bob madara and I discussed a few options, now $10k + later here I am. I couldn't let a boring motor live in my boat. I'm finishing up a few details and then it should be off to the dyno.

Yea Bob is the best. I loved working with him on my 540 build. The project i just picked up is an 18' checkmate that Im thinking of dropping a L33 5.3l ho into to keep it semi alpha friendly. Should be interesting. LS motors rock. What you did with that truck intake is great. They are soo fugly stock but are ideal for marine use. I am very interested to see what your dyno numbers are.

I'm mainly waiting for my plug wires to show up, then some decent weather so I can haul my motor to the dyno. I'm guessing around 450 hp... I'm just excited to hear this monster run finally. Only been a year and a half of work on it... I think I found how to run a stock gm in tank fuel pump on my scarab fuel tank.

AmI missing something?? 10k on an ls motor should net you significantly more than 450 hp....

I may be low balling the numbers. That being said, everything in this motor is built for endurance over raw power. The only thing still stock inside the motor is the crank. My pistons were around 900.00, my flywheel was around 400. It all adds up really fast. Their are two ways to build an engine, big power for short amount of time, or decent power for a long amount of time. Oddly big power way can be cheaper. Look at the c5r engines. Only like 650 ish hp, but runs the 24 hr races and costs $70k. Or you can drop 18k on a 1000 hp motor but it only runs for maybe 10 minutes at a time. Think top fuel vs formula 1. Top fuel is 6000+ hp but is rebuilt after every pass, and formula 1 runs for hours on end.

If anyone can send some nice weather this way... it would be greatly appreciated. My little heater just can't handle below zero temps. Since I can't work on my boat I've been collecting parts for my 56 Buick build. I've got a complete c5/6 corvette front suspension with z06 spring, and Nascar truck arm rear suspension. Full float 9" and aluminum truck arms using the mono ball. Planning on a twin turbo ls engine, and I'm using the corvette engine setback. Should be a fun car when it's done.
