IMP 310 Rebuild/modification
3 Attachment(s)
I thought that I would share a little project of mine (That became bigger) a rebuild/modification of an old IMP310.
The boat is a -89 310-Eleganza with busted engines which I bought from a customer. |

Almost all of the mess caused by the broken engines cleaned up here.

From the beginning I was only going to change the engines and fix some of the interior.
But one thing led to another and later on during the project everything went a little out of hands. Made som templates for new instrumentation. The first version of the dash. |

Here we have laminated the stern to make room for Bravo transom instead of the previous TRS.
We also removed the skyport and laminated with Divinycell. Mounted some scoops from Eddie Marine Removed all of the bolts from the inside of the windscreen and laminated it instead :) Made some adjustments to make the engine hatch fit better |

Here are some early build pics of the new bolsters being built by Boat and Car fashion a local company in Sweden.
We also laminated new headrests for the backseat |

Here the boat has been moved to our painting facilties :)
I couldn’t decide what rub rail to choose so I decided to make the boat seamless instead. |
Great looking boat. Nice job. Keep the pics coming. I owned an IMP and had a ball with it.

The engines arrived after a long wait and we started to make a template for the adapter to make the Viper engines work with Mercury transom.

Here are some fun pictures and (maybe correct) info that I’ve heard from the previous owners in Finland and Sweden :)
From when the boat was used as a race boat, it was called Cheap Thrills and the driver and team was: CHEAP THRILLS OFFSHORE RACING TEAM Ray "Grabber" Grabowski Steve Fussell Rich Schieferstein And this is a picture from when it was a Finnish team who raced with it :) |

We couldn’t find any vents that looked good so we made our own with some help from a good friend of mine Jon Palmqvist who designed them.
The "home made" vents :) |

I had some problems with the measurements from the blueprint for the headers. It wasn’t exactly the same when we finally received the headers :)
So the easiest way to make it work was to modify the heads exhaust ports. :) On these pictures I got enough clearance :) |

Totte from Boat and Car fashion measures the overall height of the backseat, he is the most accurate interior-guy I have met :) |
