I think that is my boat. Serial # 10. Built for legendary car people in West Michigan, ( Im betten on it. wink/wink). thru- CJ, then Monkey1855 to me, probably others. She shows signs of wear, but still solid.

A Pantera may ride nice, but it is a budget boat - they are not put together very well except for the lamination. Never owned one, but I have test driven one. The hull is a dinosaur.

A 28 Apache is a bigger taller boat with more freeboard. It's a slow heavy wave crusher. The cabin is huge, I loved it and we used it a ton. The fiberglass liner made it very comfortable to hang out in, but heavy. Build quality not as good as the Saber. Owned one for 4 years and repowered it. Neat hull performs more like a 35ft boat.

28 Saber has lower freeboard, maybe not as low as the Pantera. It's faster than both, and built better than both. It's lighter than both. It's better looking than both. It's narrower hull than both boats, which I think makes it a better rough water boat than both; it's simple physics. Most of the Sabers back seatrest is attached to the engine hatch so it comes up and just makes it incredibly easy to access and work on in the bilge; every thing is very well thought out and easy to access. I currently own one that I repowered. If your shopping for a 28ft boat Saber should be at the top of your list. My 1989 still shows like new and still has original upholstery despite 800+ hours. To each their own, but I've researched just about every 28ft performance boat you can buy and always wanted a Saber. Bought an Apache because I didn't want to wait, but came back to the Saber. This is 20 years of research and experience in 3 paragraphs. The gelcoat and near every single piece of hardware is what you will find in the highest end of boats. Had to fix a bottom seat and the guy is like "you don't really need this quality of wood do you, its more for like high end yachts" and I was like yes absolutely don't cheap out man.
