I got pics from kw 94 when BOB CHRISTY owned the 26, I think he had BH drive with the twin props or was hook the only one with BH drive . I think the guys from ohio/ fl that won the 2009 kw worlds in p5 class this year own it they have a DEAN GELLNER motor in it. they race in the great lake races for a while to. more I think of it ,its Bobs boat his next was the 29 scarab with the lid on it. also bob had his motor set up so he could move it forward about 10'' to 12''. my 24ol with 650hp testing with 3/4 tank of gas hit 83 gps at 5900 to 6000rpm only had a few runs in it before the parts were stolen but a shortie helped me. whats the prop shaft height on yours ? mine with the shortie was about 5'' or 5 1/2'' bboat ran more level. I hope to be racing my saber 28 in p4 this summer. good luck with the 26 its a nice hull.

Air,
The boat that you are referring to is now known as "Rum Runners" which runs in P5 and the canopied Scarab is now known as "National Guard" and runs in P4. The boats that Joe and Greg are referencing are the F1 model that were stepped hulls of which only 6 were made, model year 2000 only. I forget what boats Bob has had thru the years, but I do know he ran hull#1 of the 2000 F1 model in F1 in 2001("AleHouse", "Christie's Photography), then sold it to a gentleman in southern Alabama who brought it back out in P4 in 03-04 for a few races. Between the two, the deck I believe is very similar, if not the same, but the hull is apples and oranges from what you saw in 94. Also the weight is approx 700-1000 lbs lighter in the 2000 hulls.
Greg sent me a picture of his the other day and I must say it looks pristine and show room quality, now if I can just figure out how to get him to bring out and race it a time or two

My simple response to that is "Leave it in the garage then" lololol
Keep one thing in mind, racing is done under a controlled circumstance, sometimes I feel safer on a race course than I do on a lake on a weekend, lol
on a serious note, you are a very humble man with a hunger for knowledge, offshore would be a better place with more people like you in it, whether you ever race or not.

I do need to try to make it to atleast a couple of races this year .....as a spectator of course!
Everyone I have met that is involved in the racing are really great people.
I guess I've seen too many videos of spin outs and ejections to want to be on the course myself.
Besides that I don't want to get my a*s kicked!

Just a guess but possibly the same were used on other race boats as well. You could try posting this in the racing , wanted or general discussion areas.
What power is in you boat now and how does it run?

I have a 454 (approx 425 - 450hp) that was built by the previous owner. He owns a marina in Virginia. It has a B&M blower running just 3 pounds of boost. It runs in the high 70's. I have had the boat for 4 years. I do not get to use it often enough, but when I do, it is a blast to drive!
