Give me a history lesson.... So there were 8 26 ft LS's built without the stepped bottom, then 8 more with the stepped bottom or were there more?
The ones with the stepped bottom are called F1's? So all in all how many of the 26 ft LS's were there and what was the beginning year and ending years of production?
Anyone have pictures of some early 26 ft LS's before the bottom was stepped?
Thanks! Mark

I found the answer to my question. I own the 3rd 26 LS out of the original mold. It's a 1987.

Re: '81 26' Scarab Vs. 90's 26' or 28/9' Hull in 2' to 4' seas
Hello All, The 26' Scarab is a boat I have had a lot of
info about and was one of my pet projects during my time
at Team Scarab in California.
The 1st 26 was built in 1985 for Tom Gentry and was a
Larry Smith Flat Deck.
I own the 4th 26 flat deck from the mold (NO the mold was
not damed it was and still is a dedicated mold.
There were 8 boats built by Team Scarab and 6 boats built
using the mold but were built at other locations but under
the supervision of Team Scarab.
Wellcraft 26ft boats were built in Sarasota.
Bob Christie (Ale House) and Wellcraft/Team Scarab combined
to make a Step Bottom That was a very fast boat and raced it
in F1 APBA, 5 Hulls and Decks were made at Team Scarab in
California, The hulls were made from the same Mold.
The Top Decks were made from a production Boat called the
Corvette Boat it had been dropped from the Wellcraft line
and the deck mold was found in a storage lot and was set
to be cut up.
The Boats were rigged by Donnie W. at wellcraft Hi-Performance and were approved to run in APBA F-1.

Did your boat still have the backing plates when you got it?
