Come on Scott, no more excuses. Get this thing done. We have boating to do next summer. :evilb:

Guy is confusing his life with mine- they say the mind is the second thing to go:D

scottie 150, did your boat got wet? if not, is it going to be in 2008?

scottie150 11-05-2008 07:54 PM

jeff32- the only water my boat saw this year came out of a garden hose. I still have a lot of little things to do- mainly with the electrical. I winterized it a couple of weeks ago- and put it to bed for the season. Hopefully spring comes a little earlier than July this year- so I can actually put the boat IN the water:rolleyes:

Hey scottie, hows the boat project coming along?
What part of the boat are you working on now?

scottie150 03-20-2009 12:28 AM

Gotta finish the wiring- the guy I paid to do it only got a small part of it done- so I have to start over. Once that is done all that is left is carpet and put the interior in- and see if it floats!!! I am expecting problems, you don't redo something this big and not have some sort of problem-

47 Degrees?? Geez I drove mine to work today. Sounds like time for a building party. You supply the beer and pizza

scottie150 03-20-2009 12:05 PM

Yes, you guys suck. However- everyone up here speaks english:drink:

areyouliving 03-20-2009 12:26 PM

One sec, I'm using google translator to read this.....

scottie150 03-21-2009 11:57 AM

Just dial one, or is that two? I can never remember:party-smiley-004:

areyouliving 03-24-2009 02:54 PM

Scottie Just read through the majority of your build....again. So much work and so much time and what a beautiful detailed finish to each piece. Inspiring to say the least.

now get the damn wiring done.

scottie150 03-24-2009 04:42 PM

Thursday- already scheduled my lead tech to do nothing else but work on it- so between the two of us it should get close. The weather around here has been killing me- this is the third year in a row the weather just sucks!!! :angry-smiley-038:

areyouliving 03-24-2009 06:39 PM

One of my goals for this year is to get down to the Long Beach to Catalina race July 11th and 12th. Meet up WestCoast maybe?? Yourself?? And whoever else is interested. Can you drag that beast down that far?

Westcoast 03-25-2009 10:42 AM

Sure he can....first thing he did was restore his trailer:evilb:

scottie150 03-27-2009 10:13 PM

Yes, I could drag it down there- but why should I when I can ride on all my good buddies boats???:evilb:

So I spent the last two days working on it- have to run some wires for the tachs, and I have some sort of weird problem with the oil pressure guages- do they make reverse sending units for BBC? When you turn the key, it shows 80psi, when you start it it drops to 60, when you rev it up it drops to 30. I know the oil pressure is good because I checked it with a mechanical guage. Any ideas?

areyouliving 03-30-2009 05:48 PM

Scottie did you get the gauges figured out?

scottie150 03-30-2009 08:44 PM

No- not yet. Its been raining and snowing around here nonstop all weekend- so its hard to work on the boat when the weather sucks. I figure I will check the grounds, it I can't figure it out I will cheat and buy mechanical!!! Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Any ideas????!!!???:angry-smiley-038:

areyouliving 03-31-2009 11:38 AM

Im the last guy you want ideas from when it comes to electrical. I think I have what they call in the professional world spaghettiwiringgonnascrewyourchitup-osis. It's very technical, no known treatment.

How does that translate on Google translator?:evilb:

Fred from Livorsi sent me a response saying to try 80 psi senders, he thinks that is the problem- so thats my next move. I will keep you guys in the loop.:ernaehrung004:

Scottie, Bringing it to Lake Chelan this July? Would love to see it up close. Looks like a great job>>>>

scottie150 04-03-2009 09:09 AM

Is that when the regatta is? I haven't been on Chelan before but its not that far. I usually boat Coeur D'Alene and Pend O'Reille- but Chelan would be fun:ernaehrung004:

Hey Scottie,

Any pictures of that flooring material you used to cover your gas tank? I am really struggling to find something to use that will last and provide some rigidity!

scottie150 04-30-2009 11:39 PM

So I was working on it tonight- trying to get it ready to watertest, and now the right engine keeps backfiring out of the exhaust at idle. It sounds like the right bank, I think it might be my distributor cap and/or rotor, any other ideas? I don't think its fuel because the left engine runs fine. Any advice would be appreciated-

c_deezy 05-01-2009 12:01 AM

If you suspect its ignition related, swap the parts from one motor to the other (if you didn't already do/think of that). That is one nice about having two identical motors...
