Mine is a bone stock 7.4L, carb, non-magnum 310hp, bravo-1, brand new Mirage-Plus 23p. I run 64 (after perfect trimming) @ 4600 RPMs.
The 7.4L, carb, should spin 4400 - 4600 RPMs.
Throttle-Up (advertiser on this site) had a 1997 Scarab 22, and tried a bunch of props. They wouldn't even sell me a 4-blade. They said because of the very deep x-dimension on this boat, I would need to stick with the three blade.

To revive an old thread....anyone else have a 22' scarab for sale? I'm in the market and looking for one. I'm also looking at the Baja Hammers. Can't decide at this point and don't want to spend too much because our couch isn't that comfortable to sleep on
Thanks,
Steve

I would try and find a 22 scarab before a hammer. The scarab is a better built boat however the interior is somewhat dated in my opinion. The hammer looks like a hot tub on the water..not as sexy as the scarab.

This old post that I did kinda tells you how I feel about my SCS. I really have more reasons all the time to like the boat. Now in this time of fuel prices it is great to have a boat that will run 75+ and use 20-30 gallons all day. So I proved that 29.5k would not buy it last time I had a weak moment as the old post shows

Just amazing the attention this boat gets at our lake.Other boaters have never seen one of these. The SCS is a hot rod on water and I have some huge furture plans in the off season. It's a keeper.
