Hey Cool .. Is it at the output or in the engine bay (input)
The statement "res" threw me off. I think I have the same setup as you .. External steering and all .. Mine is dry but have heard of others blowing out steering fluid at high RPM out the "res" but just a blow by type thing ... Few drops.. tablespoon .. it was leaking down the lower unit (sorry forgot to say that in last post) onto the ground. |

Guys, can someone post a detail shot of the engine latch? I just bought an SCS and the latch is missing the metal clip thingy so it's not working right. I may need to fab something up - marina was supposed to but they are lazy.
But the boat was definitely worth it. |
Thanks, but when I picked up the boat, much to my delight the marina had sourced a brand new latch and had it airfreighted for installation. Needless to say I'm quite happy now, and am amazed that the latch is still made 10 years on.
|
Sounds great ! Now we can look forward to pictures and reports on the first weekend out!

Just a teaser pic of the 500 mile haul home:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1159/...41b6e60ac8.jpg By the way, I am the original owner of the boat - never before titled, 2.17 hours on the motor - I'll tell the whole story when I'm back from launching it! |
That boat makes that suv look dinky Rob.Don't forget the plug!!!
Great looking boat dude. |
you gotta love the lines of that boat, I know love mine:circle:
 |
That boat really does have great looking lines. What sucks though we will use the boat tomorrow and the labor day weekend then the boat is winterized and put away until next may.

Bump to keep the SCS thread at the top.
Need to upload some pics of the first launch and all the fun we've been having! Man, this boat gets a lot of attention - including from much bigger performance boats! Loving it! |
I know what you mean about the attention these boats get Rob.Labor Day is typically the last day of the year the big boats are out on our locale lake.I got several thumbs up today from much larger boats on the water.
People just stare and gawk at these boats as they idel by in the no wake zone. On a sad note however,my boat will be winterized this weekend and in storage until next may....bummer. Steve |
We threw down this weekend too and its true people love these boats. Well i give up on gps this season its been one thing after another no batteries left at home and this weekend my brother in law gave me his old one and it justed search for a signal all weekend. best i can tell you is it blurred my vision like my gsxr does, when i put it to the wood and trimmed it to 4900 rpm. I also tried to do my impression of mv opening credits this weekend yahoo!!!!!:party-smiley-020:
 |
Prostreeter, look at the winter as project time - I've got a laundry list of stuff I want to do to the boat. Can't wait to dig in.
What prop are you guys running? I've got the stock 25"er on there and it honestly feels like it could take more. What is max rpm on the 502? Though the boat does chine walk above 70 in 2-3 foot rollers - I wonder if I am trimming it out too far. When we test drove the boat, it was rock solid at 75mph but no waves, so am looking for more stability in some rougher water. Thoughts? |
I have tried a 24 pitch 4 blade,23 pitch Mirage plus and a 25 pitch Mirage thats been lab'd.24 pitch was good out of the hole and that's it.23 pitch was blowing out of the water.Bought a 25 Miage and night & day difference.Cruising at 55 then hammer down the 25 has a great bite to it.Max rpm on mine is 5200 but I've added aftermarket exhaust and some porting/polishing on the heads.
As for chine walking...use your trim tabs....settles the boat down. |
Boat didn't come with any tabs - they're on the laundry list . . . :D
|
OK...that explains the chine walking.Once tabs are installed the boat is rock solid.
|
Do they scrub speed?
How do I size them? I'm looking at 12x17's at the moment. Was told you don't want to overtab. |
They do rob speed somewhat...not much though.
Just measured mine...16x11 dual ram. |
i run 25p mirage plus but i have no gps speeds yet just the bouncing speedo, i also have dual ram tabs not near the boat to measure right now.
HEY prostreeter how did the procharger work out? |
The M3 pro charger is still sitting in the box in my shop.It will be going on sometime in January or Febuary.
|
well i think my upgrade this winter will be imco exhaust and buy my own f@#$?&* gps unit thats for sure, can't talk smack without gps numbers
 |
We do think alike .. I had someone run over my 06LE here is my next..http://www.suzuki2k8.com/media/HAYAB..._1280x1024.jpg

how rare are these boats
I've never seen more than 2 or 3 for sale at one time in the entire country. That means there were very few made or people are hanging onto them. |

I really don't know the actual production numbers of a white SCS.With that being said,I wouldn't think but maybe a couple thousand produced.I've only seen two others in Colorado Since they were made.
