We will see .. The boat market is not good.
Two years ago I was offered 30k for the boat and turned it down. The market wont allow those numbers now i bet.
I will keep it if I cant get what I want.
:food-smiley-007:

Prostreeter 11-15-2007 07:46 AM

I dont think the boat market is good for any seller right now.The speculation is for $5.00 a gallon of gas next year.If your boat sells and you get what your looking for I would bet it will go to an inland type of boater.

So you want 30k for it ?

502SCS 11-15-2007 01:10 PM

There ya go again Unitek ..
You have been asking about that boat long enough now that you should just bid on it :ernaehrung004:
I would love to see you get it .. Then I could live through you for a while :D

Unitek 11-15-2007 04:20 PM

Im not going to bid on Ebay. Let me know if it doesnt sell.

502SCS 11-15-2007 04:29 PM

It is up to 20,100 and has 48 watchers as of now it will likely make it to 25k at this rate.
You could offer me 25k now and I would pull it off ebay I will risk that it will go over that on ebay.
That is 5k less than I told you 6 mo ago

better buy it i see 22"s for that price, this boat will go up in value

Prostreeter 11-16-2007 06:36 AM

I think these boats have leveled off and wont appreciate. The boats we all have here which from the pictures we have posted are in top condition and worth in the range of 25 to 27.5k.Condition of the trailer has a 10 to 15% bearing of what the total package is worth...jmo.

Even though the value has leveled off and if kept in good condition I dont see them depreciating any further.Again..jmho.

502SCS 11-16-2007 06:58 AM

I would agree that these are not muscle cars however,
the numbers that any boat brings is dependent on the guy who wants it that day.
When I was looking for a boat I had two in mind. One was a cat and the other was an orange SCS. I liked the fact that no matter how many other 22 or 23 they built they only built 14 of the Orange ones.
I was sold on it and I would have paid more than top dollar to get it. When I was looking the one I found was the only one I saw for sale in a year.. That was inspiration to grab it as well.
I think these boats are every bit as desirable as a "Miami Vice" boat or a classic Donzi or Chris. In another decade we will see them grabbed up.

Prostreeter 11-16-2007 07:29 AM

Actually your correct. The orange SCS is worth more than the white ones since they are limited productions.Even though the white SCS is also limited in numbers, the orange one is more scarce and therefore worth more.Someone here needs to buy your boat.

If I wasn't having a 67 Mustang GT500E being built for me I'd buy your boat for a matched set.How cool would that be?

502SCS 11-16-2007 07:47 AM

That would be way cool .. Hey you need to send us some progress pictures of the Stang as it goes together

Prostreeter 11-16-2007 07:59 AM

The shop building this Eleanor Mustang (gone in 60 seconds car) sends status report photos every two weeks on a friday.I'll get some today and post them.

The car is on the rotisseri getting the front total control suspension and the independant rear supension installed now.

Best part about this build....all aluminum 427 side oiler punched to a 468ci with a guranteed dyno report of 650hp.The trans is a 5sp and on the shifter is a little red button that says,GO BABY GO.150 shot of nitrous.

502SCS 11-16-2007 08:09 AM

How cool is that !!!:food-smiley-007:

Unitek 11-16-2007 11:32 AM

how much have you used it in salt water ?

502SCS 11-17-2007 09:48 AM

6 to 8 times a year for offshore fun/poker runs and trips to a event.
We live between Orlando and Daytona next to the St. Johns river and about 50 lakes so we do most of our boating in lakes and the St. Johns.
After each trip to salt the boat gets a 1/2 hour flushing and rinse of the engine compartment. That is why there is almost no rust in the engine compartment.

Once the boat gets a bid over the reserve and below 12 hours. (most bids come in the last 2 min!) I will not be able to end it early without risking a bad record on ebay... Just a hint ... hint :-)

scarabrun 11-17-2007 01:10 PM

e-bay auction insurance

unitek if your going to buy the scs ,its not a bad idea to buy it through e-bay because e-bay has a up to 20,000 auction insurance that covers structure and motor,,,outdrive ,,, etc. the reason that i know this is when i sold my 29.5 on e-bay last april, the guy who bought it knew exactly what he was about to do,the boat was a 1996 and to the best of my knowledge it was a perfect boat,he had 4 guys inspect it, a total of 4 hours and a 2 hour ride in tampa bay,it checked out perfect, but when he got home to virginia about a week later, and took it to 3 marinas, probably his good buddys, they decided it needed a new transom and bulk head a total of 16,000 ???????????? well e-bay calls me and wants me to give up some money''.WRONG''i knew better and what this guy was up to,so i lost my e-bay acc. and i got a lecture from e-bay,about how i should have told him that it had all these problems, lesson learned here!!! e-bays a great way to buy a boat or anything that runs, where else can you buy a 10 year old boat and get a guarantee like that

502SCS 11-17-2007 02:43 PM

Ok ScarabRun tell me thats not your Busa :ernaehrung004:
Here was my last one..Before someone ran through a stop and killed it and almost me.
Part of the reason for boat sale...

Not up to riding yet .. walking is nice .. Doing that again :ernaehrung004:

502SCS 11-18-2007 04:47 PM

Well it didn't make reserve ..
The fuel thing I guess
I wanted to go out on thanksgiving anyway :ernaehrung004:

Prostreeter 11-18-2007 05:26 PM

Well,we all know your boat is worth more than the ebay bidding.Ebay in my opinion is a place for bargain hunters and does not reflect what an item is worth on the open market.

I watch Ebay all the time for cars, trucks, boats, snowmobiles, atv's,etc and Ebay just does not bring the high dollars that the item would in a different type of advertisment.I had my Pro Street on Ebay and not one bid.I put it on another internet ad and it sold in two weeks and got my asking price.

I would suggest if you really want to sell your boat I would put it on BoatUS.com and it will sell.I think more people scout those ads before Ebay....I think Ebay sucks unless your a bargain hunter.

scarabrun 11-18-2007 05:45 PM

agree

The owner of that boat is a member here. His boat is listed in the OSO classified.I considered that boat before I bought the SCS that I did.I was just not interested in a big hunkin motor like what he has.

My boat was a diamond in the rough when I bought it.A 7 out of a scale of 10.With the work that I've done to the boat and trailer it's a 9+ now.

502SCS 11-26-2007 05:14 PM

My boat at 75 feels like it is going to become a sea plane:D
Cant even imagine 93MPH in a 23.6 hull.

502SCS 01-09-2008 07:12 PM

+1 Brotha !

For example... 2007 23 outlaw 496 mag 65-68 mph 59k sticker price
Hmmm Stick with the SCS !

Prostreeter 01-09-2008 07:23 PM

Good choice to keep the SCS.They really are timeless classics. What other 23 foot water rocket get the thumbs up and attention these boats get.I can't think of any.

Five more months and we'll get to have our boat out again.

BTW.....where's patchy been?He was fun to fuk with.
