I hear ya.People want something for nothing.I've got mine listed for sale as well for one reason,no flippin water in Colorado. Our lakes are mud holes and the nearest mud hole has nearly been drained for the farmers so it's not even worth owning a boat like this here.
Had it on Ebay a few weeks back with a reserve of 27k and I think it made it to 14k.I'm not going to give this boat away and lowered the price to 22,995 which is an extremely good deal for the next owner. I think these boats are not selling quickly is the price of gas and there's at least 4 or 5 for sale.Used to be 1,maybe 2 for sale at any given time. Good luck....hope it sells quick. |

Pro,
You selling the charger? Disappointed that you're selling her - she's worth the haul to Powell . . . |
The SCS sold yesterday. The new owner lives in southern Colorado where there is more water. The guy got a good deal, not a smokin deal but a good one on a nice boat. And I feel good about it too since the market is really flooded with boats and it's definitly a buyers market.Throw in the price of fuel which will never be below 4.99 a gallon again and I'm cool with it.Will be putting the order in on our new Shelby Cobra today:evilb:
So,my SCS bros have fun, enjoy your boats as I really won't be checking in that often. Freshwater.......I'm keeping the M3 Procharger for a hotrod project. |
how much you get
|
well that sux, good luck with shelby dude !!!

21k. But I gave him 2 props,3 inflatable pulls toys for his kids, fenders, ropes.Everything that goes with a boat.I really think a good, clean condition SCS is worth 20 to 23k.If I was looking to buy one I wouldn't pay more than 22k. |
Yea but you just sold one so ... Well you can say anything :Whatever:
:D Congrats and condolences to ya man LOL |

:D Congrats and condolences to ya man LOL There's really not a huge market on boats anymore. They're a real tough sell in todays world.I think we'll miss it but won't miss all the morons out on the lake. Our 1967 Shelby GT500 arrives this Sunday. It's taken 1 year to build it and it'll be here soon:D |
Yea when I have people say... "I cant even imagine hiow much gas that Chevelle must use" I say ... Heck you should see my other toy :-)
Oh well it is what it is ... |

Just one year ago you couldn't get a good SCS with a 502 in it for under $25k!
Oh well, mine's not for sale. She's a keeper. |
Scs
I think the problem is that the gas prices have close to doubled or will soon. So most people who could afford to purchase a boat and truck to haul it in this price and size category aren't going to be able to afford to operate it often as to make it worth owning.
I think the people who are well off financially and not affected by gas prices as much aren't in the market for boats like these. They will stick with the larger high end boats. My theory is that pretty soon you will have to be pretty well off to own any small, economy boat and thus the market for smaller boats is shrinking to the size of the market for the larger boats. Which, is probably a pretty small group of people. A few years ago I owned a Scarab 22 and gas was $2.00 less per gallon. I could burn through a 60 gallon tank over a weekend. I was going to upgrade to a 29 but now that plan is smashed. I cant afford to pay $400 to fill it up for the month. Then another $100 to fill the truck to tow it. I dont think this is the end to boating sports. I just think the amount of people who can afford it will be shrinking month by month. |
i think these gas prices will get rid of a lot of us rookie powerboaters. my wife and i have no kids and our house is paid for so that leaves cash for fun, repairs, upgrades on our boat. i hate it for others that this crunch will push them out.
maybe just maybe it will get rid of some of these "i have no clue about boats or boat safety" people that ride around in there 16 foot bayliner or party barge towing there kids on tubes right across your path!!! |
scs
I live in Southern Ca, land of million dollar-2100sq foot homes. Even though my wife and I pull down plenty of cash each month. It all goes to the mortgage, cars, kid, food, and $5 a gallon gas. We get reamed out here for everything.
So throwing a boat on top of all that is pushing it. Although if anyone wants to dump an SCS for around 15K i'd change my mind. |
