ROAD TRIP!!! Wife and I are heading out to get #27 P-29 tomorrow afternoon. I talked to k4armstrong last night and he got me more pumped than I already was talking about the boat. I didn't get much sleep last night and I don't think I will tonight. I've never even laid a hand on P-29, I seen one go by at the Shootout years ago and that's it. I will be the 4th owner of #27. The first owner was in Michigan in a heated and cooled shop. The second (talked to him)owner lived in Forest Hills Maryland and stored it in a heated and cooled shop and the last owner kept in at a Marina in there building on a rack. I had a Survey done on the boat and he said do some minor repairs and normal maintenance to bring this boat into top condition. I am excited to get it back and shine it up to like new again. This boat to me is like the 69 Camaro of boats, it's time less.
K4armstrong that is one awesome build you did with #14, congratulations you must be proud!

Here is the sad thing. I know a little about fiberglass repair as my Dad used to repair and restore Corvettes. I've seen what can be done. I looked at the damage and thought that someone like Glassdave could have fixed the boat no problem. So it was sad to see it cut up.

It ended up here in Central IL where it sat for a year or more and then was cut up for training purposes. I parked by it every day for some time.

Thanks guys. Made it to the Marina at 3:00 today. We parked the truck and got out and I didn't even make around the truck and my wife spotted it in the water, awesome! I Crawled all over it for at least 30 min playing with all the buttons like a little kid. Then we took it out to test it out. The thing hauls ass at idle, it throws a foot wake! Even with one in Neutral im worried about the WP at LOTO. When we Finally made it to get it on plane I gave the coals to it next thing a notice I'm going as fast as my Nova toped out and we are cruising. Then just as the fun started the salesman Steve started pointing out all the crab pots, holy s$!t. They are land mines for as far as you can see. I'd did crack it open two times but it was to much for me in a new boat with all the crab pots. I would post some pics but I don't know how to with a IPhone so I will when I get back. The wife and I just had Mexican and beers to Celebrate. Back at the room now ready to see a P-29 in my rear view mirror. Happy Happy Happy!
