Default Gel coat damage

does anyone know about what the cost would be to regelcoat a 21 foot boat. I have some chips on the bottom back near the outdrive where some one let the boat bump something that made little chips in the gel. I was going to try and fix them, but there are a area about the size of a cooler with chips like it bumped a rock. Just looks like to many to do one at a time and if someone could redo it in gel that would be great....if Not I have a gel coat kit and it will start doing it one by one.....

Any one have any pictures of there nicks to I can compare mine to them and see how bad they really are?

I don't think it's that bad.I've seen alot worse nicks and gouges. Is the boat taking on any water?

If the only damage is in the pics you posted I would say 1500.00 would cover the repairs.Do you have insurance?

No there is never any water in the boat, and the nicks art not even deep at all, just the gel chipd off, the glass is still intact and not damaged at all. It looks worst in the pictures than in real life. the scrathes is from the fork lift loading it in the racks every year.

If it's not taking on any water then it's merely a cosmetic repair, really no big deal.I don't know how handy you are at this type of repair but if it were my boat I'd have it professionally repaired, but that's me.

To do it right, the boat should be lifted from the trailer.I would imagine the boats been beached and there is the same sort of nicks on the front portion of the keel.

A lot depends on where you have it done. Typically, a marine dealer will sub contract the work out on tack on 50% margin. I would say $1500.00 is on the low end, be careful and get a firm quote. Try and find a gelcoat repair specialist and deal direct.
