I like then down next to the drive because at speed you are only running on the very bottom to the first strake, so any wider they are to far out of the water and then you have to put them down to far to help witch slows you down. All of the 26 race boats we built had the tabs mounted the same way.

My boat is in Ontario Canada now ...just outside Toronto . We use it just for pleasure .Im not really a poker run kind of guy ....Like the sandbars though..its an awsome piece of boating history . More than I ever imagined . Such an agile boat for its size .
