Didn't get as much done today as I wanted too. Had a surprise easter dinner at my moms lol. We got the higher volume fuel pumps installed (right side was about a 2 hour job), got the v belt pulleys, and blower pulleys installed and blower belts installed. We'll have to get a couple smaller v belts as the pulleys are a slightly different diameter. Ran some more of the hydraulic steering hoses. Did some more work on the hatch scoops. We should be on the water in 3 weeks or so...

Got my machine shop friend to make some thermostat housings. I think they're gonna work well. Hopefully they'll work better than the wrong intake gaskets I used. Got the correct ones coming tomorrow.

I've gotta get this boat water worthy. We're supposed to go to Gulf Shores next weekend. And if I don't bring this boat with us my wife is gonna tar and feather me. We'll jump all over the other one before too long.

nice work and very nice boat, but when you make new stringers and fiberglass, why did not you put the top coat as the last hand? much less porous than fiberglass
have you reviewed fiberglass and sought signs of osmosis, black dots in fiberglass? I read a lot of projects, restoration of old boats, and no one mentioned osmosis fiberglass |
hblair have you water tested at all yet?
|
I haven't seen any black dots in the glass, looks healthy to me.
No water test yet. I had to get more carbs. 600 CFM Holley blower carbs with mech secondary supposed to be in tomorrow. We'll see... |
Good luck...I know you're anxious !!
|
Long story short, pulled the blowers because of problems with ignition. At the time we weren't sure where the problem was. We are running the air gap intakes and holley marine 750's now. We will see about putting the blowers on when we get back from gulf shores.
In the middle of all this we installed hydraulic steering. I sent the cylinders to latham and had them reworked and rechromed, also getting the blower scoops installed... http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...psss6p8kng.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...psynd1vlio.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...psq2jnnuwr.jpg http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps3ildrakh.jpg |
Looks good Heath. !!
BTW...what did you shoot the hull with ? Imron ? Just curious. |
