I found the problem. Hatch isn't bad by itself. My problem was the bolt that goes through the top bracket. It got stuck on the circular indentation on the stock merc manifold of the 383's (starboard motor). I need to cut the excess threads off now so it does not happen again. I got lucky with this simple fix.
