Default Scarab 29 engine hatch is stuck.

My engine hatch is stuck on my P29. Exact same setup as a 29 scarab. Any suggestions on how to get it open?

If you have electric ram lifts, the hinge that attaches to the hatch is generally thru-bolted//threaded into the hatch bracket. You can unscrew the screws and lift it up.

I will have to check. I thought all hardware was only accessible with the lid up but I hope I'm wrong. It got stuck after the batteries were turned on so wasn't a big deal all weekend. I appreciate the help

If not, you can charge the battery through the cigarette lighter. You can get a cigarette lighter plug charger adapter at a lot of auto parts stores. I've seen guys to that, or go under the dash and find the heavy wires running main power up front and hook a battery onto the wires with jumper cables.

I have the Buffalo Poker Run coming up August 8-9 and I want to change my fluids before running it hard that weekend. I will get into it, lol.

I appreciate your help. It just might get me out on the water one of these days if I can't get into it in for a quick cruise.

Should just be able to manually lift the hatch? They had a pvc "slide sleeve"on them from the factory for just such a purpose, unless yours has been removed over time?

the ram should have a plastic tube with a 1 foot channel cut into it allowing it to slide up and down manually if your batteries were to die. 3/4 inch nut and bolt may have been tighten to much to allow it to slide. oops just what scarabman said

Hmmmm. Mine never had the sleeves, but the top brackets were through bolted.
Come to think of it, I have seen the PVC sleeves, wasn't 100% sure what they were for! Learn something new everyday.
