Doesn't look like much but peeling the headliner back, prepping the deck and bulkheads, then tabbing 16 6”x24” pieces of fiberglass in place is a fair amount of work. Still got a few more pieces to lay in place. Good motivation is remembering crossing the Gulf Stream in the 30’ scarab and having all kinds of screws back out because of the hammering the deck and hull takes. This boat is going to be sturdy.

Also spent some time cutting, bending, and tacking some radar arch pieces in place.

Fixed up my nifty teak door sill. Also got the arch tacked together with the outer skin on it and fitting it to the boat now. When you don’t have a pipe bender you have to use a frame rack, a smoke wrench and a little ingenuity.

very nice Heath ! it coming there !!! Time consuming doing custom stuff like that, even more when you dont have the perfect tool to do it, or life insurance when the pipe slides off the chain hook !!!

keep it up ! Nice tread to follow !

I haven't checked out your tread in a while. The boat is looking stunning. You have certainly taken your time and done everything perfectly. Nice work!

Thanks a lot. Maybe I’ll finish it before I die lol.
Still tabbing the bulkheads to the deck. I’ve got the feeling forward cockpit bulkhead completely glassed in place now. I don’t lack much after this.
Also still found some welding on the arch It bucked and drew up some with me welding it off the boat. I’m gonna finish welding it while it’s mounted to the deck to prevent this..

Got some more done. I got my engine hatch back from my friend and now have some nice 3/16” grilles water jetted out of aluminum.

I’ve been doing some rigging, it took me a while to figure out where I wanted to put the strainers and water separators. Also got some brackets for the pumps and got them installed. Finally got some new wire and finished the arch. It’s ready to start filler work.

Also got all my trailer parts from myco and have got some welding done there.

I’ll be going to Iowa soon to pick up another scarab 38, a 1982 model that has a lot of parts to help finish this.

Nice progress, looking great. 👍

Once you rip into the Iowa boat, what’ll happen to the leftover hull? After what you’ve done here, I can’t see you cutting up a Scarab
How about an out board conversion? (After a little break of course)
