Well it hasn't been really hot here in Alabama yet, but since I sweat like a hog when the weather is humid, we waited until this morning to spray the bilge. This no small feat, since you're standing in an area where you have to spray. With this in mind we used a single stage (no clear) urethane white. I may or may not go back and spray the inside of the hull sides with the hull colors like on the outside. I think it would add a neat touch to the engine compartment but it would also make it less bright in the sunlight. I don't know. What do you guys think? Just happy to see it painted. It's getting time to start hanging some hardware.

I’m with Dan. Straight white it is. 😀
I spent some time hanging hardware earlier. I bought some straight cut 4” tailpipes a while back. I like how they look on the boat.
Also I’ve been in a conundrum on what to do with my cabin hatches. These are plated bronze and they are built very heavy. I like them, problem is the plating is just about gone and the hinges are broken. The hinges are the only thing cheap about them, and they're pot metal. You can still buy these hatches new (thanks phughes69) from Italy for like 1300 apiece. But I decided to have a friend in a machine shop make the hinges out of stainless, and I have purchased some house of kolor chrome simulated paint we are going to spray them with. I think they’ll look good.

It’s nice to be able to install hardware for good.I have some marine caulking ordered so this stuff is not tightened down yet. I’m happy we went white on the drives and k planes. I think they look good on this boat.

I ordered 2 tubes of 3M 4200. I used it in my sailboat before and it did well. I want to be sure my k planes, water pickups, etc. are sealed well. The boxes have thick o rings against the transom and the drives.
