Got new wheels and tires mounted, went ahead and had them balanced. These tires are heavy duty with steel belts in the sidewalls. Pretty much got the wiring done, and decided to cut gaps in the bunks for potential straps to pick the boat off trailer when I make my runs to south Florida. I just don稚 see me dipping this trailer in salt water. This trailer turned into a lot of work (imagine that). I hope to get the bottom of the boat finished and the rest of the trailer done and get the boat on the trailer next weekend.

That is one hell of a trailer ! It has a better paint job on it than some cars and trucks. Those are some bad arse tires too. I see you are using black zip ties, That is a good thing , they are UV resistant. You already spent a ton on it, why not use SS Adel clamps? I know the cost a lot more.

Little more on the trailer. Worked on the bunks and reglued the rubber strips. Hopefully I can start on the bottom of the boat tomorrow.

I never thought I would be in awe at the effort, quality and care going into a trailer!
You continue to amaze and inspire me. Thank you for that! |

thanks, I値l be using those clamps in the engine compartment, but I think I知 going to stick to the wire ties for now anyway on the trailer.

We used to buy the zip-tys by the pallet loads. The 3M brand and the Ty-Wrap brand are probably the best when it comes to UV resistance. Pretty much down to just a couple hundred or less now days for personal use. The cheap imports hold up ok, but get brittle after a few years. Great job. I just like this project overall !

CC up next or kick back and enjoy what you’ve built?
Just curious, if you did a CC build what your preferred donor hull would be? |
