I hate to ask, I'm sure it is in here somewhere, but what did you use for bilge paint. My boat, I think has Bilge Coat. It looks good for the age of the boat, the engines are out, I have cleaned it, but it gets dirty fast with just dusty shoes while in there replacing fuel lines, clamps, cleaning up the cableing etc.

Mines actually sprayed in (that’s a lot of fun lol) sherwin Williams single stage automotive paint. I spent many hours in there prepping with body filler, sanding with DA’s (even block sanding in the front) and a few applications of sprayable polyester putty, then urethane primer to get it pretty smooth. It’s not perfect but most of the visible areas are pretty straight. I knew it would be kept pretty clean and urethane automotive paint is very resistant to oil or trans fluid, etc. so that’s what I used.

One of the nicest bilges I've seen!

I agree with Knot 4 Me. I just want mine to be oil and other fluid resistant. Whatever had been spilled, tracked dropped or whatever, seems to be stubborn to clean off. My bilge has always been dry and kinda clean, I was just looking to see what I might be able to do to just hose it out if needed when it gets dirty. Thanks for the reply!

When I went back and looked at the first post on this project and look at it today, I am thinking "wow, somebody had a vision and stuck with it" This boat is likely 2x the boat it was brand new and probably much better than anyone here could imagine ir turning out like this! Just friking amazing! Well done, keep it up.

Thanks guys. The transmissions are now at bam marine in pompano beach. Hopefully they’ll only be a week or two more. The first shop wasn’t able to get them done.

The cockpit upholstery is being worked on and hope to get it in may.

Dan McNamara recommended anchoring the bolsters by glassing some aluminum plates in the floor then tapping them for the seat bolts. Great idea. Plates supposed to be here today.

Steering hoses are being finished being made right now. May be done today, hope to be installed next week.

I decided to replace my steering pump with a new unit just because. Naturally it became a big pain. I’m on my fourth pulley and I think the offset is going to be right this time.

Also got some new seawater valves to install while the motors are out.

Looks like I may be polishing the motor brackets after all. They look a lot better than they did and require less trouble than paint.

Also got a nice larger power steering reservoir. Still gotta to install it…
