Back from the Dead; '81 Scarab 38 Resto

Thanks we ran the boat again about 70 miles Saturday. Still fine tuning things like trying to sync up the throttles and shifters closer, trying to locate 2 persistent slow oil drips. I’m looking forward to getting the upholstery in the cockpit and cabin finished up over the winter and having a complete boat next year.
Here’s another video I found on my phone that my brother Brian took the first day we ran it in June and a photo we took last Saturday evening.

That Miami Vice paint scheme on the Fountain would definitely make Reggie frustrated, Dan. Personally, I'm finally getting hip to the new contemporary, so-called 'Scandinavian' boat design language, and might get rid of my Team Scarab. The flat deck design is getting really dated. Poor Heath, after all these years getting the Scarab restored and now it's hopelessly out of fashion. Think about it, starting at only $550,000 one could purchase a new stylish Wellcraft 35-footer?

I have to say it's hard for me to look at the boat you posted and not think that it is pretty darn ugly. I wonder about the bow design, you see those on the haulover videos. On top of being gross looking, it seems it's really good for soaking everybody in the boat? I don't know, guess I am showing my age.
