Wellcraft Site
Does anyone know what's happening to the Wellcraft website?
I've checked several times with nothing there... I'm very interested in Excaliburs.
Anyone have any experince with these boats?
Thanks
FT

I don't think they have updated their web site since they cut the Scarabs out of their line of boats.
The Excaliber is an awesome boat! A buddy of mine has one!
Party Central!!
Good luck!

Thanks,
I noticed that wellcraftboats.com has a "Coming Soon" posted. Maybe they're moving to a different site.
Anyway, I guess I have all winter to make a decision.
Thanks again,
FT

Fullthrottle....I have a 1985 Excalibur Hawk 40....I don't know what model Excalibur your looking at but I do like my Hawk...it has fresh 454/400 cyclone engines with rpm intakes and speed demon 750 carbs,..runs 60mph on gps...not bad for a big heavy boat....it also rides like a cadillac!....Fred

Excalibur line is actually made in Australia by Riviera, now sold under the Four Winns name. They're on their website now. http://www.fourwinns.com/pdf/excaliburbrochure.pdf Dealer had a pair for sale at the Annapolis Boat Show 2 weeks ago already.
No public statements on the future of Scarab from Larry Smith, just rumors and opinions here on the site.
Edited: Following up to your question, there are several of the 45' Excaliburs in my club with 496HO's and Bravo III's, they join us on poker runs, very fast boats. The owners love them.

Excaliburs and Scarabs are gone (from the Wellcraft line) as of last year. Wellcraft is now a fishing boat company. I love my Excalibur 26', but it is too bad it will soon be an artifact. Four Winns has picked up the "Excalibur" name in their cruiser/yacht line, and I think the Scarab name is up for bid.
It looks like the "performance" boat labels are slowly disinigrating due to the rising insurance costs and strict boating regualtions (and slow sales). And, the big boat companies are only going to manufacture what is in high demand. The Brunswick monopoly will soon own them all...
