This boat is now located in Helsinki, I meet the owners yesterday, two brothers, really nice guys, looking forward to go boating with them when they get their new engines.
thats more of a cruiser than a offshore boat and has nothing to do with Miami Vice Stingers.
I did an engine rebuild for Talvisotas Sistership.
The original block serves as my garages door step nowadays..

I later found the "Save the old race boats" thread and you can answer there then. And it was you that mentioned the Talvisota in this thread.

That was a FEW years ago I mentioned Talvisota on this thread.

Just answered FlyingFinn as he left A Lot of boats out even then from his hometown..including one Formula 302 with Kaama Surface drives and a Cougar 46 US-1 that I rode with while it was brand new.
But enough of offtopic..keep that in other forums.
This is about Scarab (38KV) MV editions.

The MV colours are IMO the only thing that makes them stand out.

I would like to see it again its been quit some time since I saw it. I called Wellcraft about boats they built and they don't keep records of the boats they build. So I guess if somebody wants a certain scarab badly enough they will pay for it. It only worth what the person that wants it will pay for it.

Don Johnsons Scarb is in Oslo, Norway and is currently undergoing restoration. Pictures are attached in the formum on page 4.

The Verified one with greetings under the Laminate by wellcraft workers to Don Johnson has been in Finland since 1989 and was bought from the an auction held by the TV-company.
So apparently there´s more than one.
At least this one over here is 100% genuine and I personally have traced it as being delivered new by Wellcraft to the TV-company.
I´m told the one in Oslo is a Camera boat as it doesn´t have the Race/blower Hatches therefore not DJ´s personal boat but a MV boat nonetheless.
Is it a 1986 model as this one here is a 1987 and has the race hatches.
There´s not a single pic of a 38KV in the series with a engine lid without the race hatches.

There was a 38KV MV Scarab that Wellcraft gave to Don Johnson but was not used in the series. It has the plaque that you pictured and should have a signiture or another plaque inside the cabin somewhere. I remember reading that some of the builders signed their name to the boat but I don't remember exactly where.

Last I heard that boat was in Norway or Sweeden or somewhere like that. There are at least 3s ome says as many as 6 boats that were used on the show. There's a camera boat, one with a black arch, and one with the rainbow arch. There may be more or less but from the research I've done on my own this is what I was able to come up with.
