I don't believe the 300 degree oil temp hurt the bearings That being said I have build circle track engines for many years and have seen many of those engines well over 300 degrees and no bearing...

Any time you can reduce the pressure angle of the lifter is a big plus, More lift equals reduced base circle, Smaller base circle increases pressure angle which does not make for happy lifters.

After looking over the pics I can see the dowel...

After looking over the pics I can see the dowel holes in the pan rail which means they are done on a track system for production and is not a true CNC machined block but is done with gang tooling...

I am sure PBM/World blocks are better pieces then when Mitchell was selling them, Customer support sucked back then I had to stop selling them as there were costing me to much money to repair them!!...
