as a of this moment I have solved the removal issue.
cut the screws with a hacksaw and caught the bottom nut and shaft with some gorilla tape.

now the replacement socket I bought is too big...

I’m having an issue replacing the stern light socket on a 272 SR1.
i tried to remove the 3 screws and just one backed out -but only 75%-
finally cracked and removed the socket ... the 3 screws are...

Twin 7.4L bravo drives, had the drives serviced at winterization in the fall. Reputable marina.

Unwrapped the boat and both reservoir bottles are low...port is practically empty.
looked around...

i followed the road path here and pulled it apart, just like it reads.
really was that easy. I'd like to put 'non-permanent' but waterproof connectors on the wires so if I have to pull it apart...

I'm gonna try to pull it apart first, 300-400$ is strong so i'll work the diy first. if it fails, I would need to pull it out anyway.

I have a '89 formula 272 sr-1 with stock 454 merc 330s and Bravo1 drives... spinning 4 blade 24p bravo props
Gps is 55mph at 4400rpm.
seems a bit slow to me for that set up.

I've tried but can't get them up and don't want to force and break them...but it seems like wasted space.
