I agree that the cost of these boats have gotten out of reach for the average person. Most are over $400K. I've been in the marine industry for almost 40 years in both sales and now building boats....

From what I've been told the v in the tunnel helps to reduce wave slap. You have to remember this boat was built for offshore racing in big seas.

Don't use gel coat. It always looks like crap and gets dirty so easily. Buy a decent single stage paint and paint it. It'll look better longer and much easier to clean.

We use them every day. You have to thin the gelcoat so its like paint. 15% is not nearly enough. We use acetone and don't forget the wax. Also when you tape the area use 2 inch tape and roll it back....
