You actually drove??? It was my understanding that all you had to do on that boat was put in GPS coordinates and the autopilot driven by prox sensors and the TV cameras got you 'round the course!!

Usually you dial-in in an area with flat water. If there is a current use 2 way averages. GPS is the only way to go when a change gives you a half a mile an hour etc.
