You dont say what year but the all have wood in them and the years from 1986-1990 was a year transition year to OMC and there were quality issues. Other then that the classic has been unchanged

Also since you are in CT check out the outboard Exchange in Waterford CT. The guy has been in busy forever and can help you outr those motors are very picky to get running.

Just out of curiosity were did you find that boat. I lost track of it I beleve it was rigged at Atlantic Outboard and then sat in some guys driveway in Wethersfield for years I would drive by it.

You will get all sorts of opions on aftermarket, I stick with orgianls and replace every 5-6 years since I run in salt water. Remember Gas is the cheap part of ownen a boat
