Just like jonyb described above. You have to have enough power to do this though. I could have run 8 speakers off the PDX 4.150 and still had plenty of power. I have the gains on both amps turned...

You are not going to get the same quality as an Alpine PDX in a marine amp. If you located the amps in an are that does not get any direct exposure to water you will be fine. I have never used marine...

I just did a system in my pontoon boat and bought everything (except cables and speaker wire) from onlinecarstereo.com, and saved a lot of money.

I have an Alpine PDX 1000 pushing two Alpine...

I got some bad diesel from Terribles last year. I barely made it home to So Cal. This is the only problem I have had there, but something obviously got into their diesel tank. It took out some...

There is also a 76 on the water on the California side across from the island. I have a slip at the Marina and they do have very bad attitudes. They are the only game in town though so what are you...

You Fountain guys are funny, have you ever even been in a Cig or a similar boat known for rough water capability. I have owned a T/S Gun and have driven Fountains, and there is no comparison when the...

Re: Looking for water pickup

I would call Peter at Skater then. I used through hull stainless ones that Teague sells. I don't know what the advantage would be in using something other than stainless?

Re: Eggbeater cats

Cool, I really liked the AMT but for Havasu I thought the Skater was a better choice. I was looking for the fastest O/B cat in the 28-30' range, and I felt the Skater was the best choice for me. I...

Re: Eggbeater cats

In water like that I don't want to be in any smaller boat. I bought my Top Gun for running in the ocean, and IMO it is a better all around boat for the Pacific Ocean (or any comparable body of...

Re: Eggbeater cats

The boat was not set-up right for the PowerBoat Mag test, but that was because they were still finishing the rigging the morning before the test. I know the person that built the boat very well....

Re: Eggbeater cats

Sounds about right to me. The 28 I just sold was a rocket, and it would handle 2-3' chop easily. The one AMT that was in Havasu was about a 100 mph boat max. Very nice looking boat, but my Skater...

Re: The Tooner

Playcraft holds the record at over 80 with twin 300x's on the back of a 26. I believe the boat is in Havasu at one of their dealers now.

I have a 28' Bennington with the 350 mag and it will run 45...

Re: My 28 In Classifieds

Price lowered for the last time. I have had a lot of interest, and some that said they would buy it for the old price but they had to sell their boat first. If I don't get the price I am looking for...

Re: Paging Havasu Hangin

That's what the pontoon is for. 28' of shade and it does not matter how much water gets in the boat by jumping in and out... :D

BTW, I second the above on your boat, one of the nicest Skaters I...

Re: can havasu heat kill speed ?

Depends on the hull. My DCB's lost a considerable amount of speed from spring to summer in Havasu (about 8-10 mph). My Skater is not effected nearly as much.
