If you melted down a plug and a valve it doesn't sound like it was from a failed plug but maybe a lean condition. Better look a little further to make sure you don't have a fuel issue and don't end...

Looks like they may have been internal hex cap screws, picure #2 looks like there is a shoulder. When installed the head of the screw would be flush with the plate.

SSM 3A & SSM 5 upper gearset.

Net forged upper gear set 1.50/1 ratio. Merc # 43-848-150T1 Used but shows no signs of wear, pitting or damage to the tooth profile. $800 obo + shipping.

Try swapping the sensors between the 2 motors to see if you move the problem, if it moves you found the problem. If not don't waste the money and keep looking.
