Hey offshoredrillin, do yours look like the same design as mine? If so, I'd be interested. After looking at many of the pictures on here, most 20's don't appear to even have front deck cleats and...

I'm thinking maybe low 70's tops @6K rpm and a 22 pitch prop. Maybe the purple paint on the TRS adds the extra 15 MPH!:D

Re: synthetic oil help

Agree that Mobil 1 V Twin is the best. For most of us, Mobil 1 15w50 is more than good enough. 5qt. containers are about $21 at wally world. Hard to beat.

Re: 454: what pistons and cam?

Thanks for the ideas, so far. More details: I was running an Edlebrock performer 2.0 intake, and also have an Edlebrock troker 2 intake that I could use. I am planning on getting a set of new GLM...

454: what pistons and cam?

Building a mild, hopefully reliable 454 for an old Cig 20. Previous motor that blew had SP hyper domed pistons (H426CP) and crane 134561 cam. I'm thinking of going with forged SP pistons. I have...

Re: 425-450HP BBC for less than $5000?

I need to buy almost everything: block, rotating assembly, probably heads and the exhaust manifolds are original and have cracks, so those too.

Re: 425-450HP BBC for less than $5000?

The "hour straight" was just in theory, sometimes we do run WOT for maybe 10 minutes after engine is warm.
I pulled the intake and heads off and found #6 piston had disintegrated, looks like the...
