Re: Mobil 1 V-Twin

The best place to get it is your local Mercedes Benz dealer.
They get the best prices on it too. MB specifies Mobil 1 for all of their products so the dealers can order it for you.

Re: MSD ready-to-run Distributor pn 8360

I put one in my 400 SBC powered fishin' boat and had the module fail leaving me stranded. The module is under the breaker plate and is not field serviceable. I bought a non-rtr dist. and 6m2 box to...

Re: Edelbrock Signature Valve covers don’t fit

Hardin also makes exhaust spacers for a little more clearance. I had to make an adapter plate to raise the shifter plate up as well.

Re: Removing Registration Stickers

Since some idiot bureaucrat in NC decided to use paper stickers it's much easier. Just run your boat in salt water for a week and it will remove itself!

Re: gm car question

Make sure it has gasolene in the tank. As a service mgr. at car dealership I saw lots of cars with wrong fuel. IE: diesel, kerosene.

Re: thunder bolt 4 coil

If you use an MSD coil make sure it is the 'high vibration coil' or it will not last long. The only time a coil change will help performance is if the old one was weak.

Re: No Spark, but power to coil???

If you are running MSD's ready-to-run distributor, it is probably a bad module which is not customer serviceable.
Send the distributor back to them and they will replace it with a 'reman'...

Re: Hydrolic or Solid Cam?

I cannot see how a flat tappet cam can be superior to a roller. My race engine builder friend will not use them any longer. The ramps on a cam have to be profiled to keep the lifter face in contact...

Re: SBC Cam Questions

I am running the XM270HR in my SBC 400. It has a nice lope to it and will idle at 750 rpm which is important with an Alpha 1 outdrive. I'm turning a 14 1/4 x 20 screw at 5400rpm which is good for 60...

Re: changing sbc's from late to early style

I had the dipstick problem when I changed motors. I used a Proform dipstick from Summit. Milodon also makes one for this engine. The braided stainless tube adds bling to any motor.

Re: 305 sbc

I went from a 5.7 to a 406 full roller and I cannot tell that it hurt the consumption any. I am putting it through an Alpha 1 so I'm a little scared to prop it up much. I am running a 14 1/4 x 20 at...
