The upper half of the drive was rebuilt. These are new findings since putting a few hours on it.
Lube no longer smells nor did it turn dark.

Took the boat out with the new upper today everything went well, but man it sure shift positively into drive. Almost slams, I could just be over analyzing, kind of like looking at your steering wheel...
