Rebuilt both of mine several years ago, stroked to 496, rollers, 9:1 cr. stock heads. Runs a solid 65 on gps, not run on a dyne so I would be guessing the hp.

I had a 1990 27/29 with 454 mags. The 365's have all forged internals. Mine would only run 73gps, but found the hull was hooked near the transom. Probably caused by the boat not setting on the rear...

I agree, did you check the ground connections on the ground bar under the dash. I doubt all three gauges are bad, but I'm not sure the gauge would bury when you turn the key on without a good grd....

Remove the fuel line from the inlet of the carb, unless it was removed, should be there if it still has stock carb on it. I had 365hp mags and both had them.

My 357 is a little over 8' to top of windshield. My trailer has a rear gate, so is higher than normal. Go with the 10' door.
