My machine shop was not heavily into boat motors, i should have spent the extra $500.00 on the dyno, he did use some good stuff in the motor , -scat crank , speedpro pistons, inconel exhaust valves....

Just wondering if threre are any out there,after spending $4800.00, not including other misc expenses w/in the last year to have a simple 450 horse 454 mag rebuilt i only got 65 hours out of it ,...

I was in mine, stopped me at grass lake bridge, only had 1 drink in me.They checked evrything though.They were very polite.1 of the guys was from the hometown were sunsations were made though.LOL...

Pantera's 24 is a nice boat , can't forget about sunsations 25 aggressor, w/ a stock 454 mag 68-69 mph, warm up the engine a little add exhaust 75mph pocket rocket.I have a soft spot for this boat!

I am in the same boat as kirk , i would like a turn key boat, that runs all season long w/ NO problems, But a 288 sunny or a used 280 silencer is high on my list when i get the engine back together...

I put the revs on my fresh 454 mag rebuild , ran into some glitches at install , but todd got me hooked up , so far so good , can't compare stock to the revs cause the new motor is pushing roughly 75...

Are you running a stock cam set up?Check your timing and plugs also With a non mag motor i wouldn't push it more than 4700r's, your gonna get more top end from a 3 blade , i would try a 23 pitch...

Update on the Chain of Lakes Thunder run, it starts and ends at Joey Ts on the fox river in mchenry, plenty of parking w/ room to raft off for the larger boats , meet at 9:30 am. dinner at 5pm $75...
