Question Radar wings/arches

What do you guys think of these on a powerboat - not a big yacht or cruiser? Do you think they look silly?

I presonally hate them on offshores, my dad had a 79 30' scarab and he added one to improve his don johnson-esque-ness and I thought it was cool at the time, but I see them still going on sonic and the occasional fountian and I think 79 scarab, don johnson, all over again, get with the times! Different strokes, for different fokes though.

I guess they would be cool if you where going
for that total 80's look. Just add that and a
mullet , spandex shorts , Milli Vanalli on the cassette player ...yeah baby !!!

Back to reality , No they look silly on offshore boats !

Thumbs down

My 28 Baja came with one from the factory, it was cool back in 1990 but I removed it several years ago and I think it looks much sleeker with out that foolish thing.

Miami Vice is dead

I had one from the factory on a 24 Carrera. The way the Carreras are made I thought it looked better with it.
We had a buddy who ordered a new 95 32 Nordic. I loved that arch on that boat. Saw the boat a few years later and the arch was taken off by the second owner. The Nordic just didn't look near as good. What a mistake by the second owner!
The reason the Nordic looked good is because Nordic put the proper rake on the arch and it was a long sleek looking boat.
I have to agree that most boats would do better without.
Set it up proper then that's a different story.
The bad:
Covering the boat and having the proper cover.
It takes a tall garage door for the arch to clear.
