Default Ebay Scam regarding the Wheelie boat!

Last week I sold the motor from the Wheelie boat on Ebay. Today a received a Wachovia cashiers check. If they weren't greedy idiots, I may not of noticed right away. I sold the motor for $1500. I received the cashiers check for the amount $3800. There was a note in it to western union the balance to a "shipping company" which they had listed and that would be used to pick up the motor, crate it and ship it overseas to the buyer. It also says to keep the wiring fees as well as a fair amount for my time. Obviously no one is going to buy a motor for $1500 and spend $2300 on shipping. The cashiers check looked pretty good.

No, I wouldn't have. From his email and the look of the note, I would have waited for it to clear. I would have deposited it though.

You should have drawn your own $100 bills on blank paper and mailed them back to him. Put a note in the envelope that this "money" is just as good as the "money" you sent me!!!

Dont deposit it, take it to wachovia and turn it into a new cashiers check. I did this when I sold my world series tickets, costs about 30.00 and I had to take the check to my bank to get my signature guranteed.

But I knew that cashiers check was good.

Im under the impression, it can be returned as far as 15 days out.

I already checked it, it's a phoney check. Scary you can't even take a cashiers check anymore.

Here's the scam. They ask you to send back the "Change". Know people in the USA a generally honest, the "Change" is sent before the "Bank Check" is found to be bad.

Just tear it up so you don't have more bad luck for us to read about.

Gino, does this sort of stuff always follow you?
