Looking to upgrade into a little better rough water boat. I am looking at the 38 Top Gun, the 40' Hustler, or the 42' Fountain (I know the fountain is only 21'2" after you deduct Reggies measurements!) would like to do 85- 90 MPH any input. I like the speed and price of the fountains, the looks of the Hustler, and the resale of the top guns !! Also looking for late 90's not looking to spend over 130K

im a big fan of the top gun but i think you would need some poewr to put it in the 90 range. under 130k your looking at a striaght bottom. what about the 38 slingshot? there are a few 99 and 2000 for about that price that will get you ni the 90 range. from what im told you will not find a better rough water boat then the top gun. i can tell you this, in a year or so im going to move up and i want a 35 or bigger that will hit mid 80s for around your price range(i hope). i would go for the gun. i would sac. some speed for the ride and comfort and resale. just my opion

Probably won't be able to get what you want in a top gun for $130K. For $130 you can get a solid 80MPH boat in a strait hull gun.

You probably need a twin step and 575s or so horses to see 85+.

Fountain will be a lot of bang for the buck. A newer 42 Ex with 525's will get you mid 80's anyway and be close to your price range.

Don't know much about Hustlers.

for the price and speed you want to see you will need to stick with a Fountain or Hustler. A late 90's Cigarette will not have the steps and it will take huge power to see 90mph.
