Default Making a prop holder inside anchor locker

Okay, I know nothing about fiberglass so be nice! I am thinking about making a prop holder inside my anchor locker.

I was thinking that I could install some threaded rod through a piece of treated wood that was cut to fit. Then fiberglass this piece of wood to the sides of the boat on top of the original floor. I have attached a VERY CRUDE pic of what I was thinking. Sorry I'm not an artist!

Could this work?

I'd weld the threaded rod to a flat peice of SS, then screw that plate to wood.

Great idea. The reason for the wood and fiberglassing it to the sides is to strengthen the floor. The original floor is in good shape but it's doesn't seem to strong.

do not use treated wood. Use 3/4 inch outdoor rated ply and makes sure it is completely encapsulated . . . . . . or use Coosa

Okay thanks. My main concern is fiberglassing in the wood like that. Is that okay?

yea, thats fine. just make sure you grind everything real good. I would bed it down with a piece of glass underneith the new wood than glass the whole piece over
