Default 525sc - what thermostat and engine temps

what thermostats do you run in the 525sc, and what temps do you see

I replaced my thermsotats this year. actually had first run of the season yesterday ( I know, michigan sucks!!)

anyway. temps seemed higher than i expected ( 170? on starboard engine, 160 on port)

I may switch the stats to see what happens, but ordered what mercury said on Bam's site, maybe there was an upgraded ( lower temp) stat recommended than the original 1995 part number??)

thanks

I thought mine were running 150/155 also last year ( again, very few running hours to remember for sure)

i will go buy some 140s again jsut in case
and flush the seapump plumbing too ( since this boat is 100 times easier to do than my 272 formula was )

thanks

I also run a Merc 140 deg stat with 3 small holes (1/8") drilled in it. Temps are always 140-150 while running.

3 small holes in the thermostat itself, or the bypass area of the gasket?
