27 Daytons w/IMCO extension Box
#1
Considering adding an IMCO extension Box to my 07 27 Daytona ICC. Has anyone had any experience with them do they help or is it even worth it? I have 900hp motor 2" Shorty but I had to install a 1" spacer to help get the boat on plane..
Thanks

Just my opinion, but from what ive been told and read over the years on IMCO ext boxes, they arent met to help the Cat up on plane,, and really not necessary on single I/O cats... I asked an Eliminator rigger this question years back for a 25 Cat, and he told me to "save my money", I didnt need it....From what im told, the IMCO ext box sets the prop back allowing you to pick up "top end speed" due to the prop being pushed back "into calmer, less distrubed water", but had nothing to do with the Cat getting up onto plane..... idk?
Plus, it was a very expensive proccess,,, so make sure you wanna do it first......
It does look good "cosmetically" and looks blingy,,, but is it worth all that work/money? .. idk
the plane problem seems like a drive issue,, the lower skag to high, or the drive mounted too high.... or the pitch on the prop may need to be lowered... idk
anyone?
