I know that Merc is buying the springs from a aftermarket supplier. Proably crane. Or was it comp? Either way, I believe that you want to use the newer HP500efi spring. This spring helps resolve some of the earlier breakage problems.

I ended up finding the seat pressure was still too high with the new crane springs I have switched over to Comp Cams. If you need a Part # let me know and I will look it up. This info and recomendation came from my head builder. Scott

Scott , I was e-mailing comp-cams about springs and they mentioned part # 924-16 for a spring to use. Does that look like what your head builder would use?...............gofast
